Welcome To The 111th Annual Almond Festival

The History Of The Almond Festival:

The inaugural Almond Festival took place in October 1915, honoring the almond harvest. This two-day celebration began with a parade on Saturday, followed by a variety of traditional festival activities on Sunday. The homecoming queen was crowned as the Almond Queen, taking center stage during the parade. The festival was temporarily suspended during World War II, likely to conserve resources. It wasn't until 1964 that the newly established Chamber of Commerce rejuvenated the event, relocating it to the last Sunday in February. Since then, we have continued to commemorate the almond blossom at the Almond Festival.
